Jord

Welcome to "Jord", your very own AI generator that customizes a garden, big or small, perfect for your exact destination!

With this tool, you contribute to biodiversity right where you are, even if you live in the heart of a big city!
Our smart generator keeps track of everything necessary so that you don't have to worry about poor yields, not contributing to biodiversity, or toxic plants.

In other words, let us handle the boring stuff while you enjoy the fun!
Our mix-and-match system also ensures that the plants not only look good together but also thrive in the same flowerbed.

Do you see anything you like? No problem.
Press the lock next to the portraits to keep the plants that interest you. The app will then continue to provide new options that both match and thrive alongside the ones you've chosen to lock.
The pot that is generated will be a customized blend of crops and pollinator-friendly flowers that are perfect for your specific location. The AI engine simply knows which cardinal direction, location, and pollinators are available in the area you want to sow.
Start by entering your details. It works well with either coordinates or an address.

Want to pinpoint another specific location? No problem, use the map!
If you simply want to contribute to diversity, you can choose the option "pollinator-friendly plants only."

The options generated will be in season all year round, from early spring to late autumn, and will return each year.Concerned about your children or pets? Check the "family-friendly" box, and our intelligent generator will ensure you don't have to worry about unpleasant surprises by filtering out all toxic plants.
And when you've found a pot you simply like and are satisfied with, press "order" and proceed to the order form.

Here, you can choose to wait a little longer for combined shipping at a reduced price while contributing to a smaller carbon footprint, or you can choose to have it delivered directly to your mailbox.

The seeds are provided from growers as close to you as possible, and for the best results, we recommend placing your order no later than the first week of March.
A few days later, you receive your bag of seeds to spread on your balcony, a city patch of grass, or at your grandmother's place in the countryside.

A small note with clear instructions to get started is, of course, included. Now you can enjoy your new beautiful flowerbed while knowing that it contributes to biodiversity.

All without needing to do a single Google search.
Our task was to address the United Nations' 15th goal, particularly in urban areas.
JORD was created to simplify the process of choosing and growing plants. Many people spent too much time researching which plants thrive together. For instance, potatoes and tomatoes can't grow near each other due to disease risk.

I spoke with a farmer who spent up to 60-70 hours researching each season. Timing is crucial for a successful harvest.

I also talked to a gardening enthusiast who struggled to pair plants effectively. Most plants need the right conditions to thrive, which includes light, nutrients, location, zone, and weather. Without these, plants become vulnerable to pests and diseases.
It also costs quite a bit of money for seeds. On average, customers spent about 400 SEK per season. As beginners, this was, of course, the biggest problem and also what demotivated people. They ordered seeds and found it extremely enjoyable to create their own flowerbed, they planted their seeds, took care of watering, saw it grow, but then it died without them really understanding why. In other words, the problem isn't a lack of motivation, but rather ignorance and poor timing.
However, all costumers agreed that anyone with a small patch of grass should take responsibility and cultivate it, at least with pollinator-friendly flowers, because everyone also notices that the harvest gets worse every year.

JORD aims to remove the research burden and make gardening more enjoyeble. Users have the freedom to choose, and technology can provide virtual previews of results.
I learned the importance of research. My first idea was an irrigation service, but I quickly realised that irrigation wasn't the biggest issue for growers.
I also learned the significance of a design system in both prototypes and testing. I could sit with the customer, receive immediate feedback, and make adjustments in real-time very easily.I developed immensely and truly embraced Figma for this task.
